Previous knowledge of Interdisciplinary Studies 

Before taking the IDS course at UCF I had a limited understanding of what Interdisciplinary Studies was. I knew that it was taking more than one field of studies to create a BA degree. And that was about it. 

Current Understanding of Interdisciplinary Studies 

Interdisciplinary Studies is taking more than one discipline to create a BA. Interdisciplinary goes beyond school in all companies they use different disciplines to solve complex problems. If more than one discipline is not used it can cause problems with the outcome being one sided and may not solve the complex problem entirely. One example is the use the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at all levels in a company along with innovation which are involved in the everyday aspect of work. While you might want to complete a complex problem quickly you most always consider safety first there might also be a new innovative solution that might not have been possible in the past but with new technology is possible today.
